Championship organiserA national championship for every school student
The India School Cubing Championship gives school kids across India a fair, structured way to compete, improve and be recognised, without leaving home.
- Open to students from recognised schools across India
- Five events across four age groups, from U7 to U14
- Three rounds, one registration, and one fee for all of it

Cube events by age group
Your child can enter one event or several. The fee depends on how many, not which ones.

How many children move ahead
Every zone follows the same rules. Places go event by event, so more than the top five get through.
Round 1 to the Zonal Finals
From each zone, in each age group
- 3x3Top 5
- 2x25 more children
- Pyraminx5 more children
- SkewbU11 & U14Top 5
- 4x4U11 & U14Top 5
“5 more children” means the five fastest who haven't already qualified through another event, so a child who's through on 3x3 doesn't take a 2x2 place too.
Zonal Finals to the National Finale
15 children per event, in each age group
Who can take part
School students
Children studying in recognised schools across India, on any school board.
Four age groups
U7, U9, U11 and U14. The age group is worked out from your child's date of birth. You don't pick it.
Four zones
Your zone is set by the state you live in, and it decides your Round 1 weekend.
Beginners welcome
First competition or tenth, the rules and the timer are the same for everyone.
The question every parent asks first
If everyone is solving at home, how do you know the times are real? JCA has been running this process since 2020, and it's the reason a result here counts for something.
- 01
The scramble comes from the system
Nobody picks their own puzzle state. Every competitor in a category gets the same scrambles from JCA's competition timer.
- 02
Results are checked before they're published
Every submission goes through JCA's verification. Times appear on the leaderboard once they've cleared it, not the moment they're entered.
- 03
Three solves, not one lucky one
Scoring is the mean of three. A single fast attempt won't carry a child through, and a single bad one won't sink them either.

What parents ask before they register
If your question isn't here, message us. We reply the same day.
Does my child have to travel anywhere?
No. All three rounds are online. There's no venue, no travel and no accommodation to arrange at any stage, including the Finale.
How do you know the times are genuine if everyone is at home?
Every child in a category gets the same scrambles from JCA's competition timer, so nobody picks their own puzzle. Each solve is recorded and checked by JCA's verification panel before results are published, and a solve that can't be verified from the recording counts as a DNF (did not finish). Scoring is the mean of three solves, so one lucky attempt can't carry a child through.
Which age group will my child be in?
It's worked out from your child's date of birth when you register, so you don't pick it. U7: born on or after 1 January 2019. U9: born in 2017 or 2018. U11: born in 2015 or 2016. U14: born from 2012 to 2014. We confirm it against the age proof you upload, a birth certificate or school ID card.
How many events can my child enter?
U7 and U9 can enter up to three: 3x3, 2x2 and Pyraminx. U11 and U14 can enter up to five, adding Skewb and 4x4. Every child enters at least one.
How much does it cost, and does the fee go up in later rounds?
₹1,100 for one event, plus ₹100 for each extra event, up to ₹1,500 for five. You pay by how many events, not which ones. The fee covers all three rounds; qualifying for the Zonal Finals or the National Finale costs nothing extra.
What is the JCA Global Ranking ID, and does it cost extra?
It's an ID from Junior Cube Association that records your child's results across competitions. It's worth ₹500 and is complimentary for the first year with every registration. If your child already has one, enter it when you register; otherwise one is issued and sent to your email.
How is the zone decided?
By the state you live in. Your zone sets your Round 1 weekend: East 14–15 Nov, North 21–22 Nov, West 28–29 Nov and South 5–6 Dec.
How many children qualify for each round?
From Round 1, each zone sends the top five in 3x3 in every age group to the Zonal Finals, plus the five fastest in 2x2 and in Pyraminx who haven't already qualified. U11 and U14 also send the top five in Skewb and 4x4, and a child already through on 3x3 can take one of those places too. From the Zonal Finals, 15 children per event in each age group go through: 240 national finalists in all.
Are there medals?
Yes. Every child who enters 3x3 gets a medal couriered home after Round 1. Every participant also gets an e-certificate after Round 1, and the top finishers at the National Finale receive trophies.
When will results be announced?
Round 1 results on 9 December, Zonal Finals results on 16 December, and the National Finale is live online on 19 December. Times appear on the leaderboard once JCA has verified them.
